F-ONE QuadX – Mehr Windrange, smarter Flex, neue Wing & Kite Generation

F-ONE QuadX – More wind range, smarter flex, new generation of wings & kites

With QuadX Composite, F-ONE introduces a new material construction for wings and kites designed for high shape stability, direct feedback, and long-lasting durability. The goal is a stable, precise feel with low weight and consistent performance over many sessions.

Structure and construction

The core feature is a four-layer construction with the Inside Film concept. Unlike conventional laminates, the PET film is not on the outside, but protected inside between two layers of fabric. This provides better protection against UV radiation, abrasion, and creasing, and ensures the material retains its shape for longer.

The structure combines a highly tear-resistant ultra-PE fabric with diagonally arranged ultra-PE fibers in an X-pattern. These stabilize the material in all directions and minimize deformation under load. Inside, the PET film ensures that elongation remains controlled and the profile remains stable without losing flexibility. An outer polyester layer protects the entire structure and reinforces high-stress areas.

Driving experience and performance

The QuadX Composite is tuned to provide stability in longitudinal, lateral, and diagonal directions while offering a very pleasant, controlled flex. The wing performs harmoniously, flexes cleanly, and returns to its original shape extremely quickly. This results in a very direct yet comfortable riding feel and a wider usable wind range. The wing remains calm and stable even in gusts and delivers consistent power.

QuadX compared to Aluula

In the high-end sector, both Aluula and QuadX are very high-performance materials. Aluula is extremely lightweight and very stiff, offering clear advantages when maximum stiffness is required in specific areas. Therefore, F-ONE deliberately used Aluula fabric only where this stiffness is truly needed. However, using a material that is too stiff across the entire surface can make a wing feel too harsh overall, compromising comfort, control, or range in other areas.

One of the main reasons for developing QuadX was precisely this point. The goal was to find a material that could be used across the entire wing or kite, delivering maximum performance without making the wing excessively stiff. QuadX is only slightly heavier than Aluula, yet remains very stiff while offering a smarter, more controlled flex. The material reacts dynamically and returns to its natural shape extremely quickly. This results in a very balanced overall feel with excellent control and efficiency.

Since QuadX is somewhat less expensive overall, it can be used over a larger area. This allows for designs where the material is used across large portions of the wing. For example, the leading edge can be built lighter because fewer additional reinforcements are needed. At the same time, the structure remains stable and durable. The result is a very well-balanced ratio of stiffness, flex, durability, and weight.

The new material will soon be available in the first models. The Wing STRIKE V6 QUADX and the BANGER QUADX kite will be the first to receive it.
